th400 question

    i have a question, how hard would it be to convert a 2wd th400 to accept an np 203 out of a '76 k5. what would i have to change? thanks.

    A tranny teardown/rebuild, tailshaft from a 400 that will slide into the 203 and the tailshaft housing to bolt up to the 203.

    You need to switch the output shaft on the th400 to a 4x4 shaft. You will also need the adapter bracket to bolt them together, unless you have it already. But on the tranny just the output shaft.

    I agree with the others. A complete tranny teardown is required to swap in a tailshaft. It is the first thing to go in and the last to come out.
