I would like to thank Rod for helping me out on getting a 14 bolt. He was nice enough to answer my plea for a cheap 14 bolt last week. Not only did he find one in a Bay Area junk yard but he also came out to help me pull it and load it in my truck!! There were a couple of 14's there, a 4.10 open, a 4.10 Gov-Lok and a 14 semi floating. We took the 4.10 open so that I can weld the spider gears. The prices were as follows:
    79.99 -- 14 bolt
    12.00 -- core charge
    02.49 -- E-brake cable
    02.49 -- E-brake cable
    01.99 -- U-Bolt
    01.99 -- U-bolt
    03.49 -- U-Bolt Plate
    03.49 -- U-Bolt Plate
    00.99 -- ADM tax
    08.71 -- Sales Tax
    -------
    117.63 Grand Total

Pretty good price for a 14 FF complete from drum to drum. Now I just need to check the brakes and weld the gears. Does anybody remember what the part # is for the u-joints that have the two different size cups on them?

Anyways, thanks again Rod (Savage 1),

    Congrats on the find.

Napa 348 is the u joint I used...............others have posted #447 but I opened that one up and it was not a hybrid joint. Did the one ton conversion last weekend and the 348 FITS...........perfectly.

We got it at the Oakland Pick-n-Pull. They are in the phone book but will not answer calls about parts. You have to go there in person and pay the $1 admission fee to see what is there.

Its off of Hegenberger Road in Oakland. There's one in Newark too if its closer. The 14 bolts are real common, finding a front end is the hard part.
