Ever sit in your house, minding your own biz, while a lawnmower is going somewhere in the neighborhood?
Ever hear a loud "CACHUNK", the lawnmower engine slows bogs down for a second, then comes right back up?

A little part of me is wondering if I should go see what that was...

Oh yeah, hearing that once and a while is common. There was a few times in the past a few grass clumps in our yard grew up really thick and taller than the rest, and I stalled the mower completely. Had to restart, bring up the RPMs to full throttle and hit it again.

    I hear it too!!..

I used to love that sound! RRRRRRRRRRRRRRR---WHACCKKK!..silence...sound of rope being tugged repeatedly..owner swearing!.. :haha: :haha: :haha:

Being a small engine repairman, that sound = CHA-CHING!--as is cash register noise! ... like hitting the slot machine at the casino.. :p: time for a new flywheel key at the least,or if they hit something real hard, the blade too--many cranks get bent or shear right off too! :haha: ..its very amusing,as long is its not YOUR mower that made that noise!  :rotfl:

My brother used to have a clothesline thing made of 1-1/2" pipe in his backyard--we used it to pull a bed off a pickup once, and load heavy stuff in his truck with a come-a-long --it was an upside down "U" shaped one, wide enough to back a truck under, its "legs" were cemented in the ground..one day,he wanted to park his car hauler behind the house, and since the clothesline's pipe frame was right in the way,we took the pipe cutter to the "legs",and cut them off about2- 3" from the ground--we figured we could "splice" it back together with a smaller pipe inside the old ones if we wanted to put it back again...

The next spring,he'd forgotten all about those pipes sticking out of the ground, now buried under 6" of grass!..I was standing about 10 feet away, watching him mow the lawn..suddenly,we heard a loud "BANG!!",and the mower lept about a foot off the ground, and went from 3600 RPM's to ZERO instanly!--a black pool of oil oozed out of the block..we stood there for about 10 seconds, then we couldn't hold the laughter back any longer.. :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:  ...we almost pissed our pants we laughed so hard..needless to say,the Briggs and Stratton was now "Broke and Scrap Iron" :p: ...it was an old POS mower anyway!..I could use a laugh like that again..I'm overdue! :D
