I can't help it now , everytime I see it , I start singing " America ....#%%%^ YEA !! "
If that's true, its one hell of a view.
Just took the pic this afternoon. Up at Norbeck lookout off Iron Mountin RD. The Black Hills are my back yard.
looks smaller than i remember, of course i was like 11 so...
did they ever finish crazy horse? i hurd it was delade for a long time, or theu guy doing it died of something what with that?
I saw a show on that a while ago. The guy died and his daughter or son was taking it over. It's being funded through private funds and the tourists that visit the site. I think they said it should be complete by the end of the decade.
any one have a upto date (relativly) pic???
Latest one I could find was 1998! Info is at crazyhorse.org.
The picture of Mt Rushmore is real. It also probably looks smaller now because Paul took the photo from a higher elevation AND about 2 miles away. As for crazy horse..... Not in my lifetime will I ever see it finished. They have completely finished the head and have moved on to the horses head. In the last 20 years they have completed roughly 15% of the carving. No way are they going to finish the last 85% in a decade.
They only do a few blasts each year, so I doubt Crazyhorse will be done in the for seeable future. I have some video footage of a night blast from last year if anyone wants too host it for me. I think I posted it before though.
LOL, me too
Nice View Z3PR! I will hopefully make it down there some day! But for now I will look at my faceless mountains!
