The 39.5 swampers are taking there toll, so I'm going to put on a dual steering stabalizer. Any Ideas on what brand to get? I just a very worn out stck one on there now. I found some of my earlier steering problems where due to a loose u-bolt ( DOH!). Now it's fine until I hit a groove :-).

Rancho has a good rep for stabilizers...
So you got the Swampers on it now? I'd love to see it, do you have a link to a pic?

Not a whole lotta choices... I'm not really a Rancho guy so I got the side to side style Trailmaster to put on my rig when I lift it... easy install... looks great... all I have to do is try it out. I have a Hecklethorn (sp?) one on now in the stock location... nothing all that great IMO... would be the same as an OEM replacement

What advantages/disadvantages are there from the side to side verses the other way? Clearance mainly?

I still have a bit of work ahead before it's ready to wheel. It's at least on the road now and so far so good. I had a few hicups whith the fuel injection, but I think thats ironed out now. I should have pics online soon, I just put the tires on last Sunday and have been driving it this week to get a few bugs out. Sounds like you had quite the cross country adventure, you'll have to take some pics of trusty2 and post them as you build it up.

Hey, bud, I have a dual Rancho (one on top of each other) available - let me know if you're interested, have pictures. If you pick it up or meet me, price would be $40 including the RS5000 shocks.

I have the heckthorn duals that are mounted side by side - -
I like them alot and I used to have the Ranchos that were mounted = but the bottom one got crushed some how... if I were you I'd go with the horizontal set up - - it also looks pretty cool IMO. Laters

Have been stuck (once) as of 8/12/00

When you ordered it, did you just ask for a dual stabilizer or did you have to ask for that specific style? Do you have a part number?

Also, one last question. Do you see any problems running that kit and a Rock Rod?

hey Mike... I asked for it specfically cause I like that style. List is like 125 and think I ended up paying 105 for it. Trailmaster makes both styles so you'll probably need to order it directly. The part # is 6256. I don't think it would be in the way w/ a rockrod. It is very adjustable and you have a lot of ways to make it all work really. I will take a pic of it email it to ya whenever this stupid rain stops so I can put in the lift. 6 days staright of rain... yuck. Plus I gotta get off this temp comp and put a new motherboard in my half decent one. [IMG]
