For those of you who remember several months back Canmore went down to California to buy the V-3500. Well for the ride back he bought one of those pay as you go phones. Well as it ends up he couldn't use it up in Alberta so he needed to sell it state side to get some of his money back. Well it just so happened we we're tired of my sister in law not having a phone so we struck up a deal and everyone was good to go.
That was until early Tuesday morning. My sister in law was driving back from up around Tulsa and was going through Stroud OK she slowed down to see a woman staggering in the road screaming for help. She could see the woman was in pretty bad shape, then suddenly a man with a gun came to her window pointed it at her and told here to get out of there. Of course she did and got up the road and called 911 on the phone from Paul.
As it turns out the lady was shot 7 times and is in pretty bad shape right now. The scum bag is in custody and my sister in law came out of the whole thing only scared, thankfully........

Wow! Thank God your sister in law is safe, and had the phone...amazing how things like that work out.

Scary scene, their are a lot of bad dudes out there. Sounds like a scene from a movie.

On a lighter note, where is Bubba Ray when you need'em?:wink1:

IIRC, she didn't appreciate it when I called her "honey", and threatened to charge me double....:doah:

Wow, Corey, that's a wierd story for sure. What's odd is that a couple of months ago, your sister-in-law called and left me a message about that phone- she needed me to get ahold of Cingular to get a password changed or something. I phoned the number she left and talked to a gentleman about it and asked her to call me back if there were any problems. She never did, and that was the last time I thought about it.......

I'm glad a little of the good karma surrounding my road trip got sent back south with the phone. :thumb:

:eek1: :eek1: I was just in Stroud Wed night to meet a buddy from Houston (working in OKC) for dinner. Seemed to be a small quiet community. Hope the lady pulls through. Oh and that focker should have been shot, not taken into custody. Save the taxpayers some mula.

I am always wondering about how to deal with situations like that. My first instinct would be to hit the ****er with my car, then beat him with a tire iron, but wonder what the cops would have to say about one bloody nutjob hit by a car instead of a dead woman.
