Hey Ken, I am going to post this up on the Michigan Board, if you don't mind. There are some people on there that don't get to see the posts on here.

On Sundays, they open at noon. So, we get there about noon and stay unti. close, dusk. The Mounds are east of Flint. Just east of the city of Mt. Morris in Genesse County. It is off of Mt. Morris road I belive, about 5 min west of M-15.
Where would you be coming from, maybe you could hook up with us somewhere and follow us there?

Looks like there will be another club there also... should be a good turn out.

And the weather is supposed to be wet and just above freezing all week. So, it should be nice and sloppy fun!!!

I ain't got a truck to wheel in right now, but a guy at work has a neighbor with a big bronco (I know I know its a Ford) that might come out. Hes from Kentucky and dosen't know anyone in the area or anywhere to wheel at, so I think he'll do it just to find somewhere to go.

Ken, I'm coming from the Wixom-Novi area (right near the I-696/I-96/I-275 exchange) so I would presume I'd head up that way by going through Waterford (Dixie Hwy) and into Clarkston (M-15) heading north.

Also what is required to get in? Any fees or licenses? Thanks.

For you, it would be easiest to head to 696 to 75 north. Then about 30 min on 75 and you will see M-15, take that exit north.
You will pass I-69. There is a chance we will meet up at the McDonalds just north of I-69 on M-15.
From there it is about 15 min north on M-15. Then turn left on Mt. Morris Rd. It is about 5 min west after you turn. If you hit the small city of Mt. Morris you went too far on Mt. Morris Rd. If you go far enought to hit 75, you went WAY to far.

Or, you could even take the Mt. Morris exit of I-75 exit 126, and go east. But, taking M-15 saves about 20-25 minutes.

I can get to the Mounds from 696 & 75 in about an hour.

There are two requirement, well three. There is a sound test, but they only tested when they very first enforced it. And that was 2 years ago. And you had to be REAL loud not to get in. I have seen some loud real strong 454s in there. And I havnt seen them sound test for like 2 years.

Also your muffler must be a spark arresting muffler. Meaning just no straight trhrough pipes. They do enforce this. So, no cherry bombs or straight pipes.

You need and ORV sticker.

And it is I think $7 for the day there.

They open at noon.

Ken H.

The entrance fee to the mounds is 5 dollars if you live in Genessee county and 8 dollars for non-residents. As far as sound level, Ken is right you have to be REALLY loud not to get in. Last time I went there I ran a truck with open headers and got in, but they do check that and I'm surprised I did make it in. Only reason I tried to get in with open headers is because I live 20 minutes away from the mounds and it woulda been no biggy if I couldn't get it, but if your driving a good distance... it is unadvisable to push the limits.

I coudnt remember the prce. $5 $8... I took something in the middle. :-)

We have a friend that drove 3 hours to get there and he had straight through side pipes on a Dodge with 44s. He drive it all the way too. And they would let him in because of no spark arrestor. That was two years ago when all the threats of closing down were going on. Since then it has gotten a lot better.
They do still look for spark arrestors though.

Ken

Sorry Ken, but I had to get going yesterday. Next time I'll plan on having more time available. It was fun while I was there though.
