    Hey Christie! Welcome aboard [IMG]
I'm real sorry aboot your garden! K5's don't manouver very well with no power steering...plus I was pretty baked at the time and just didn't see it.[IMG] I hope I didn't wreck anything too bad...I'd offer to fix it, but I doubt I'd survive the drive again [IMG]
Thanks again to you and Nash for helping me out and putting me up for a few hours! [IMG] You guys are the best!

    Rene...garden killer[IMG]

Welcome to the board & you're just the person to answer a question I've got!!!

My wheel spacer/adapters from Performance Tire & Wheel are being shipped to me by UPS here in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.
Can you tell me if I will get nailed with a "customs brokerage fee" on top of the $40+ dollars I'm being charged for shipping?? The sales guy said something about me being in Zone 7?? It's on the far east coast of Canada in the Atlantic provinces??

Thanks & again, welcome to the board!

You let Rene off way too easy! What do you mean making excuses for him driving 70 hours non-stop... heck he even got a new nick name out of it.

Garden Killer! LOL! Glad you were able to help him out ... way cool the way everyone pitched in.

    Welcome

Well as far as the trail rides are concerned, I'm the only one that has a Bad A$$ system in my truck. But it's my daily driver. The K5 is gutted until we can figure out what else we want to do to the inside/outside. OK so it's all outside but that's beside the point. Nashu has a bit of a system in his dually but I wouldn't call it Bad A$$... It needs work. It's hard to fill up that much space. esp in an '85 crew cab. But we're working on it.

As far as the shipping goes... I will have to do some research... but to be honest with you... it has been my experience that almost every pkg goes through with some sort of import tax... Whether you have to pay it or not depends on how they shipped it out. The only real way for me to tell is if I have the tracking # and I can be of some better asst. Hopefully the shipper marked they will pay for all fees.

And FInally RENE... I know you were a little exhausted and out of sorts, so I wont hold you responsible... I hold Nashu! jk
We enjoyed having you at the house for a few hours... I would have been more help on Sunday when you got up, but I was a little tried from driving all night. Yep! I drove everywhere... to Fort Worth... To Deep Ellum... To Ennis... and Back home again... Of course I'm the navigator in the family... But we enjoyed youy stay... I'm sorry it took Nashu so long to get you back to the Highway... I guess that would explain why I navigate.

LOL, at least I got to see a bit more of the Dallas area...[IMG]
You should have seen the looks our little convoy was getting. We passed a large group of people that looked like they were part of some tour or something...I swear I saw at least a dozen slack jaws![IMG] You have to imagine Nash's Blazer beast leading tRusty with another Blazer in tow...[IMG]

I really enjoyed seeing your place, it was muchly appreciated! I've never seen someone eat cake for breakfast before though...[IMG] Thanks again for everything!

What I know about shipping across the border is this: If it is made in the US there is no duty...you just pay GST and provincial sales tax on its value. If it is being shipped across they'll tag you for brokerage fees...usually$$$$ [IMG]

It might not be practical if you don't live near the border but if you do, get a shipping addy just South of the line. Get it shipped there and bring it across yourself. It will be cheaper!

Thanks Rene but I'm 2500km from the US border & I asked Performance Tire & Wheel to ship it via US Postal Office but they said it's either FedEX or UPS. UPS had cheaper shipping but I'm afraid to see the Customs Brokerage Bill. I've heard some pretty bad horror stories about them!!![IMG]

Glad to hear that Nashu & Mrs DB treated you well.

There's really only one way to prevent a large brokerage bill... that is to use your own brokerage service. Depending on the price of the item... Fees can be as expensive as the product. But I would say closer to 1/3 the price. I'm sorry I'm not much help in the International dept. But you can call the INTL UPS Line and ask them... 1-800-782-7892. You have to provide them with as much info as possible. They can better help you.

Welcome Aboard. Glad to see another female face around here. I got a ups question for ya....Where can I get Dale Jarrett collectibles? Does UPS carry them? I've tried his web site and they don't offer much so I was hoping that UPS might carry something. Glad you and Nashu were able to help out Rene. It was nice to see everyone pull together for him like they did.

    Mrs. DB,
It wasn't Rene's fault about your garden.....
Haven't you noticed? Those blazers just love to play in the dirt! [IMG]
Be glad you didn't have a muddy veggy garden in the back yard....
