[ QUOTE ]
"On behalf of our [750,000 members and supporters dedicated to animal protection], we respectfully request that you order the military to stop using animals," requested PETA.

"is cruel and may cost lives rather than saving them."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ya know PETA has it's heart in the right place but are WAY off base on just about everything they do. I've been around plenty of military working dogs and even though I don't think some of the handlers treat thier "partners" quite the way they should, it is just ridiculous to say it is "cruel". "May cost lives rather than saving them"?!?!?!? get real!

Sometimes I just wish there was an open season to hunt stupid people.

    Fawkin morons..

My roommate for about 6 months was a K-9 MP, I think he got in trouble once or twice a month for letting his dog spend the night in the baracks.

If the dolphin doesn't like the treatment, wouldn't it just swim away? Seems like it must like doing it. I doubt they have it on a leash.

nothing wrong with the navy-dolphin relationship IMO. Some peta-types were saying that the dolphins were trained to set off mines like some kind of suicide attack. Thats just BS, they mark the mines... humans go in and blow them up or defuse them. Rest assured that these dolphins are VERY well taken care of. Lots of yummy fish n stuff to eat... and they are probably kept in a place where large predators dont come along and eat them etc. sounds like a good life to me. If someone would house/feed me for the rest of my life just for dropping a bouy off on occassion Id be all over it. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Don't really expect m j to come back since he resembles a snake when it comes to backing his views; but on the rare occassion that he does, his opinions are like sheetrock. Easier to punch holes in than getting laid at Mustang Ranch with a fistfull of Franklins.
