I haven't had this on one of my trucks since I was 17 or 18 years old. Had to move it to get to an International Pickup box trailer, so I figured I'd throw it on. It may not be streamline, but it has alot of room inside to load and put stuff. At first I put 2 C-clamps on and then took off Baja-ing down my road forgetting I had just put a canopy on the truck. When I looked back it was twisted half off the bedsides and hanging on by a clamp, but I saved it.

Just following in the tradition of things. My dad always had a tall canopy on our '68 C20... we had a homemade bed in the back once when my dad, mom and I went to California once. When we got our '80 GMC, we did the same thing and put a Big Tall Canopy on it. Course that same truck the way it exists now probably wouldn't quite look right with the canopy still on it.

You Washington folks and "canopies". :screwy: We call them camper shells round these parts. Jenn (from Westport, WA) and I have little tiffs about the name all the time.

    almost like mine!

I have an old beat up "Reese" brand one very similar in size to that one..its screwed to 2x4's on my utility trailer at the moment, acting as a roof for the firewood under it!(its actually my friends old Chris-Craft boat he sawed up!)..

Around here,we call them "Truck Caps"...or "Camper Caps"..I rarely use mine..seems every time I put it on,I need to haul something too big to fit under it,like my engine crane,or a lawn tractor,etc..and its hard to take on and off alone (especially ON..)...

I've got a similar one (though not as tall) that I use when the kids go with us camping. We call 'em camper shells around these here parts.

My definition of "camper" is something like this or this.

Though a few around here do call them camper shells too.

Up here we call that a topper :dunno:
    Different lingo for different areas.
It's funny , in Texas they call a truck box a truck bed , they think a truck box is like a storage box you put the truck
Around here we call it a box , you know, long box ,short box
It can get confusing when you try to ask for things in different areas :haha:

Yea a truck box is the thing that you put in the bed of your truck to lock your tools and crap up in.
