I thought 14 bolts were 500 pounds or so, completely assembled. How the hell did you move it by yourself? Steroids?

    Re: THEY\'RE HERE!!!THEY\'RE HERE!!!

Yes they're every bit of 500lbs; no, I'm not on steroids, didn't eat Wheaties or smoke crack!![IMG][IMG]

They were loaded into one of the companies 3/4 ton vans at work for me with a forklift as they came on one long pallet. I cut the steel straps& lifted/skidded them onto some cardboard in the back of the van floor & slid them out one at a time and lifted one end down onto some old tires then pulled the van ahead a bit until I could lift/drop the other end down onto some more tires. It was still no easy feat! [IMG] Luckily, the only damage aside from my arm was a bit of paint scratched on the bumper of the van (the van only has 25miles on it; brand new[IMG][IMG]) The main thing is I didn't hurt my axles!!!
BTW, the 14 wasn't too bad as I had it come without rear drums cause I'm going to rear disc brakes but that D60 is WICKED!! What a brute. I'll tell you one thing though; if you've never looked at one up close before; man, that's some serious beef!!

    Re: THEY\'RE HERE!!!THEY\'RE HERE!!!

    Dave

I got them built by JMW Automotive in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The front axle is a Dana 60 with everything new from spindle to spindle with ARB & 4.88 R&P installed with all new bearings, seals, etc. I could have had new hub locks & rotors but at a little extra cost. What came with it was new brake pads & re-surfaced rotors as well as stock hubs locks but that was my choice (I'll upgrade later)
Total cost for the D60 was $3350 which includes $1100 for the ARB diff & $315 for the ARB compressor which was included!! That's Canadian dollars so for you guys in the good ol USA; that's only $2160 US$!!
The rear came without drums & with open diff at my request but again with all new bearings, seals & 4:88 R&P for $1250.
    That's only $806 US!!!

NOTE: As I'n writing this reply and totalling the bill for you; I'm realizing that Jim (the owner) is an even better guy than I thought! He originally quoted me $3350 for the front & $1500 for the rear. Looking at the copy of the bill for the ARB & compressor he sent me a copy of; it cost him $1415 for the two & he not only didn't charge me extra for that but he also only billed me $1250 for the rear instead of the original $1500!!

Any of you folks in the mid-northern US states would be crazy not to be buying from him. He's truly an excellent guy to deal with & specializes in 4x4 parts!!![IMG][IMG] For only $2966 US$, you can have the axles I've got!!!

    Re: THEY\'RE HERE!!!THEY\'RE HERE!!!

Know the feeling, my TSM disc brake kit for my 14bolt FF just came in today. Feels good when parts for that special rig arrive. If you're putting those axles into an 89K5, should be a piece of cake. Done it to an 87K5 and an 88 Suburban. Both were mostly boltin. Good luck and get some pics.

    Thanks96C4

And if it helps any more; they called this morning as a follow-up call to ensure that I got my axles & that everything was satisfactory to me. I was told that if I had any questions or problems, please call them so they could resolve it right away!! Now that's customer service!!

NOW EVERYONE GO BUY FROM JMW!!![IMG][IMG]
