My co-worker and I just went to Taco Bell. When we came out, we saw some guy messing with his car and he walked off. He was wearing khakis and a tie, so I just figured he was looking at the car. Matt and I went and looked at his car and noticed his "Support the Troops" ribbon was missing. The guy had walked away and we started walking after him. We chased him down and asked him if he took it. He said he did and when we asked him why, he said he "didn't support our troops". He gave us the magnet back and we left. He was wearing a name tag from work (idiot) and we got his license plate number and called him into the police. I'm still kind of dumbfounded that someone would be that immature to take the magnet, even when he had all kinds of "Bush is a Moron" hippie stickers all over his bumper.:doah:

It just stands to reason that if he has "Bush is a moron" stickers all over his car he is dumber than a box of rocks. Bush might be a lot of things but certainly not a liar and a moron.
Wouldn't it be nice to gather up all of these self rightous, never had to work much less fight for a thing in my life liberals and send them south of the border so they can learn that what we have here is worth fighting for? Oh well I can dream, and besides who would we watch on TV?
The good news is people who are as blatant as this wierdo usually get theirs sooner than later.

Those dweebs are exactly the type that rant on and on about freedom to express unpopular ideas being the cornerstone of a free society (as long as they are unpopular ideas that they agree with). He had so much courage - that he ran away rather that debate ideas with the owner of the "offending" sticker. A lowly street preacher has more guts than that.

What a POS. Does he not realize it's troops that give him the freedom to not support the troops? What a genius

If that would have been me he would have needed to call Rosie O'Donnell to help dislodge my boot from his ass

Nice. Was that here in Longmont? I can see that happening in Boulder but didn't think we had too many of them here.

Leaving aside the question of our Presidents intelligent and integrity, what the heck did some 18-19 year old kid who gets sent half way around the world ever do to that hippie? In other words, if you had a politically oriented sticker and someone had really strong feelings then at least I could understand, but "support our troops" is exactly that, support for the men and women who gotta do the work, not those who set the policy (whether you agree withthe policy or not). Why would you ever begrudge your countymen who is sacraficing, well to be honest, a lot, just to do what he was asked...?:shame:

Yeah, I didn't talk to him long enough to ask, but I'm in the Army, so I'm a "troop". I do what they tell me to do. I do happen to agree with it, but even if I didn't I don't have any choice. He's obviously never sat and had a real conversation with someone in the military.

I was thinking the same thing.

The Longmont/Boulder area is normally a very tolerant community of both conservative and liberal views until we get close to election day. Guess we're crossing the threshhold into November early. During the 2004 elections I had to put political signs on my roof, my neighbor had his stolen from the front yard.

Politics brings out the worst in people. Picking on soldiers and their supporters is about as low as you can go.
