I am going to be in Minot, North Dakota this winter and will have a fair amount of free time so I was wondering what I can do when it is cold as hell outside. Beside snowmobiling and ice fishing what the hell else can I do when it is cold like that?

    Cross country skiing.

Tubing, if you can find a decent hill.

Or you can just lay down and make a snow angel.

Drink, it warms you up. The cold is a good way to quit smoking though. Every time you go outside for a cigarette it's pretty damn uncomfortable. :D

Search around for old 1 ton Chevy 4wd trucks running or not. See if you can find some cheap D60's.

Actually, alcohol restricts circulation, reducing your ability to stay warm. It tightens your blood vessels.

Alcohol causes vasodilation of the blood vessels, not constriction. They open up and basically the walls of the blood vessels get thinner making blood flow quicker but allowing cold to more easily penetrate which is why when you drink you get blood shot eyes.

This is also why if you are going in for a medical procedure or in a lot of tattoo shops they won't work on you if you have been drinking because the blood doesn't clot as quickly.
