    Think I found a \"J code\" intake

Snooping around a local junkyard and found a 6.2 equipped van with the intake and pump missing.......anyway, saw an intake laying in the back and I think it's a J-code intake. There was no EGR in the middle of the intake and it appeared to have split opening.

Did the van version 6.2's have anything different about them?
Does this sound like something that I should get?
If so, what is a reasonable offer?

sounds like a J to me. Throw 40 bucks at him...that's a deal. Diesel Depot wanted 80 IIRC. I'm picking one up for 50 in the near future.

just curious. is it really worth the effort to change intakes for the amount of power gain (unless you already have it off)? it looks like a PITA to pull that intake.

Its real easy to pull, not sure if its worth it though cause I noticed no diffference.

I don't know if there is much gain just by adding the intake by itself, but when combined with other improvements such as either a tweaked pump or even a turbo it should help.

The ol' Blazer will be do for a new pump and injectors soon so I figured it would be a good time throw on the intake then.

Actually it would make more difference if you get it with the matching heads.
The J code engine other than the lack of EGR, had different heads, and those combined with the intake net you the difference in power.

I have one of each so I will let you know when I start tearing into them to rebuild.
Maybe in the next couple of months.
