ZZ4 short block is $1800 IIRC. No way I'd pay that for one that you can't justify where it came from or the condition when you can go to the GM dealer and get a short block at that price.

Don't know how they can claim HP numbers without heads, intake, or carb. Good set of headers(vortec steels) would be like $500, intake, carb you are looking at like $2,500 to get it together. I think if I ever put a new motor in my Buggy it will be a crater.

Since they are local to you, if it is a brick/motar business with a solid warranty... Try asking around about them. If they have a good rep the price seems reasonable... BUT Topdown has a complete 410 HP motor that has been dyno'd with proven #'s for $2500 and he is in Vancouver /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    The ebay link is a 383 short block, ZZ4 is a 350.

    I dunno, doesn't look like a bad deal. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I was aware, but the ZZ4 is a NEW block, that isn't.

    CHEVY 383/420HP STROKER ENGINES SHORTBLOCK

[/ QUOTE ] Warranty sounds good, but price is a little high for just a shortblock in my opinion.
