I currently have a fairly nice Denon home theater headunit, but I'm thinking of upgrading to This JBL headunit. What do you think ??? [IMG]

PM Gandolf for the best opinion. He installs high-end stuff for a living.

Haven't seen him in awhile, hope he is still lurking....

I would have a hard time going to anything else after using Denon. I have an AVR-5700 that I bought a couple of years ago. Would like to upgrade for the 6.1 and Pro Logic II but I just can't afford it right now. Which one are you using?

I would go with the H-K before JBL, but that's just my opinion. These things are getting so good, there's not much difference anymore.

Look into Yamaha, many of those other brands use Yamaha's "old chips"

time for serperates! w00t! I run marantz monoblocks to push the good ol classic AR303s. I need a new decoder tho... DPLII is handy to have if you have lots of LDs/VHS/DVDs that are not encoded with 5.1/dts etc.

    Yamaha....all the way....

Got a new Yamaha 1300 running thru 10" Klipsch Towers front and 8" Klipsch rear w/200w 12" Velodyne sub.....and Klipsch centers...I can Rattle the Neighbor's windows....and they are an acre away /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

if I hadn't already had the Klipsch, I would have gotten the KLM....I read in Consumer Reports that Boston Acoustic and Yamaha had the best mid-sized surround systems......Bose Acoustimass completely Sucked with their Bass Module scoring at the absolute bottom of the heap...just my .02

[/ QUOTE ] I'd love too have some Klipsch, but I can't afford them right now. Also, I live in a trailer house, so big speaker would take up too much room. Currently I'm useing a 5 piece KLH speaker system with a Cadence powered sub (8"/200 watt). For what it is, it sounds okay. I'm very serously thinking of getting the JBL set up and giving my old system to my best friend. He and his wife just moved into a new apt. and haven't got much at the momment.

My Denon AVR-5700 hooked up to four Definitive Technolgy BP2006TL towers, CLR2000 center, and PF15TL+ woofer has gotten the cops called on me once. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
