this ever happen to your lockrite locker

    bought locker in march ,put it in loved the difference it made,but a couple of days ago rearend started making horrible bang,klunk,pow,sounds go to jimmyjacks house pull the diff cover off looks like no problem.maybe a slightly twisted axle were thinking.guess what 2 out of 4 slide pins snapped in half go figure?????

    Very common problem, Lockright will send you a new set if you call them.
    When you put it back together make sure that you measure the distance between the two inner gears and make sure it's within tolerances of what the manual calls for.
    In fact i like to set them up as tight as the specs alow for a rear application.

    Yeah that seems to be the main problem with lockrites. People put them in with old used thrust washers and pinion pins. if possible you should use new parts. At least get a new pinion pin.
    if there is too much slop in them they will break. If properly installed they are a pretty strong unit.
