    have you all herd of this before? all new to me. At first i didnt even belive it but they got the pics to prove it.
    5 million lb/ft of torque that is just compeatly mind boggleing. how many quarts of oil think it takes /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

    well if you look at the pics there are ladders going down into the crank case, so who know how many millions of quarts it takes. Oh and bear in mind that all those pics are the "little" ones, theyre only 10 and 12 cylinders...
    And nope havent heard of thise big bad mama-jamas before.

    So do the late model th700 last behind the 14 cyl versions or do they use the th 400?

    While I was in the Navy I worked on engines similar to that. While checking for wear on on the cylinder walls I actually stood on top of the piston while wearing an ANTI-DUST suit /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

    They start by rotating into a compression , Prime and llight it off. Probably use propane or either to prime the first couple bangs and it's running from there.
