It's so cool to see kids actually gettting a well rounded education again including technical aspects. I did this back in High School, and now I've been a judge for the last 2 years. Next year, i'm thinking about being a coach!

Basically they get a challenge to pick up or move certain items, and a kit to work with, 6 weeks, and then it's game time. Kinda like Battlebots with a limit. Although there's definate defensive strategy involved, there aren't any chopsaws to kill machines either though! /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

They did a neat thing this year that combined all the last 10 years events. Yeah, makes you feel old huh? Here's the field:

They have to pull pool noodles out of tubes, carry bumble balls over to the other side, take off pvc rings and put them on a stick, pick up tennis balls and sinking pool things and put them in the tubes. It's pretty cool, about 8 different ways to score! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Sherman also made the top 8 in the seeding. They still have no spirit or anything, and it seems like the coaches work on the machine though. Sad to see.
