They Don't Want The Networks To Air "Saving Private Ryan" Uncensored On Veterans Day. Some Of The Affiliate Stations Just Plain Won't

I have been enlightened to the fact that some people may be offended at my dispariging use of Mr. Jesus

Well let me tell you, Jesus is just all right with me. He's making soup in my kitchen right now. He's editing my stories in exchange for sanctuary. Last place you'd ever look eh?

The article I read today said most of the stations that were refusing to air it was because the FCC refused to grant them a waiver for it to air before 10 PM. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

The AFA doesnt regulate or fine stations for FCC violations, the FCC does. The movie has been shown in the past with no FCC fines but some, not all, stations are refusing to show it IN CASE the FCC decides its a violation and fines the stations showing the movie. The TV stations that are refusing to air the movie are stating that their decision is based on the FCC being more sensitive than it was the last time the movie was aired. I suspect some stations arent showing simply because they predict it wont bring in the ratings and are using the FCC as a cop out because they dont want to offend veterans.

Speaking for all the vets I know, there's not a single thing about "Saving Private Ryan" that is offensive to us. It's about the most realistic recreation of actual combat that has ever been filmed, as judged by those who were there at Normandy. I can think of no better way to honor veterans (through television, anyway...) than to show an un-edited, un-PC'd, un-sissyfied movie that accurately depicts combat, and the honor, integrity, and most of all, the sheer courage of our WWII veterans. /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

What a disgrace. Shame on those chickensh*t f*cktards; hope they all rot in Hell.
