Now my freaking truck has no vibration. After about rattling all my teeth out yesterday, the vibration has disappeared.

it was a stuck u-joint, and now it's gone, so it doesn't vibrate anymore.

It does sound tire related. What rubber are you running? Had the vehicle been sitting for a couple days? Quite often vehicles with softer compound (especially something with the weight of a full size) can develop "flat spots" on the tires. Especially this time of year when it is getting warmer. Then after you drive it a bit, the flat spots work out and everything is smooth again. I used to have this problem with my old mustang. I'd leave it parked at the airport for a week and it would beat the hell out of me for a day afterwards (soft ZR rubber).

    Just a thought...

My CJ7 I had with Trutacs was hell living up by Donner Summitt during the winter. Some times I wouldn't get the tires warm enough for the flat spots to go away for weeks. Thump thump thump thump down the road.

It comes and goes and I'm running radials. It's been there during a stall test, not been there. The time after I posted this, the vibration reappearred, but not as bad. I haven't drove it today, so I don't know if it's there or not. I've had two mechanics drive it, and they couldn't feel it, but of course they don't know my truck. Oh well, as soon as this friggin move is over, I'm under the truck looking and wrenching. Maybe I'll get all camoed up so I can sneak up on the vibration.
