this thing just wont start!

    well we reaplced the pickup coil AND the modual and still its not starting, it just dont start and we dont get why, we are following with a 79 book but most of it is pretty close to the same idea. anyone got any ideas? this engine ran when we took it out...and now we are putting it in this truck, and we are at this point and we just cant get the thing ot start, book said replace pickup coil if not getting spark we did, and we replaced the modual befor that.. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

    yes it turns over great, we werent getting spark..replaced those two parts as mentioned, i guess my dad said the pickup coil is not sparking or not getting any spark or something..even with the knew one in there..we are lost..

    Do ya have power to the coil?
    Is the gound strap on the coil?
    I forgot that once and chased my tail for a bit till I seen it on the bench.

    how do you tell if there is powerto the coil..ground strap..what part is that? sorry for the dumb questions..my dad is the one thats been trying to get it to run...
