    Full story here.

Van Halen made a "jump" into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday along with Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, R.E.M., the Ronettes and Patti Smith. Opinions?

Van Halen, maybe, but probably not. The other ones shouldn't be allowed on the premises. Grandmaster Flash could be in a different hall though.

The rock hall is fun to visit, but it pisses me off that we can never host the induction ceremonies AT the hall. f**k new york.

There were lots of bands I enjoyed more than them, but they were a good party band.. DLR pretty much talked his way through every song.. kinda like britney spears does..

I liked sammy hagar better solo or with montrose..

I'm probably a bit young to know what the hell I'm talking about anyway! :haha: I listen to them every now and again, but I slap them in the Hair Band category, and I do it hard.

A bit young, that's an understatement. Hair band, no. They started the LA rock scene that was taken over by spandex and hair spray in the 80's after DLR had already been kicked out. They and Patti Smith deserve induction. The hall is BS anyway.

I think that having a rock & roll hall of fame is gay to begin with. Rock & roll was always about turn it up and eff "the man". However, it's been around long enough that todays "the man" grew up with rock. It's a big cliché now. (I've got mucho respect for the Sex Pistols response.) But, it's an industry. Or, like they say "It's a business and business is good". I am satisfied with my general knowlege of music and I like the music I like. I bet most people today (especially the younger ones) have never heard of half the people/bands being inducted, so this might be good because more of the general public will go out and buy "Horses" or at least download some of the big songs. Does that make it any less special for me? I don't think so and I don't really care...therefore, having a rock & roll hall of fame has no effect on me. So, quite honestly, I don't give a ratsass who is inducted.
