I'm offered a set of 35"x14" Thornbird tires on 15" wheels. What do I need to do to get this under me 1988 K5. Most tell me that 35"x12.5" needs 6" lift but I'm afraid that the extra width wil get me in trouble.

They will fit with a 6" lift. I ran them on my old truck witch only had a 3" body lift and helper springs. Yes, it did rub but not a whole heck of alot. You should be safe with 6".

I have a set of 35 x 15 x 15 tsl's and I have a six inch superlift, the tires are on 15x10 rims and the right front tire rubbed when turned to full cut. I put on flares cut outs and it fits fine now.
