Crane Cams has an interesting little ad on page 83 of the latest issue of Chevy High Performance. They're comparing their stuff against Comp. In there "apples to apples" test they compared.....

    PowerMax 272-2A
    intake - 218 .459"
    exhaust - 230 .486
    112 centerline

    Comp Cams
    Xtreme Energy 262H
    intake - 218 .462
    exhaust - 224 .469
    110 centerline

Crane says there's made more power from their "for more effective profile design" Or it could be 6 degrees more exhaust duration and .015" more exhaust lift, not to mention 2 degrees difference in centerline. Why not compare against comp's High Energy 275DEH with 219/229 .462/.482 and 110 centerline. Thats alot closer, but not quite. If this superior lobe design is what they say it is, why don't they copy one of comp's specs and compare it against the original. I mean the whole point behind this ad is that Crane has some magic vodoo that comp doesn't. Why not take out EVERY variable. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
