Here's where it seats as of now

Wanted to go stock front clip again. The only way to do it was go hydro steer and put the rad and batteries in rear. This is the last set of mods for a while. Getting tired of working on it or maybe it's the winter blues

Yes, it was built for mud. Trail riding with that stiff suspension was hard on the body though.
Now, I'm looking for an all purpose ride. I want to do a bit of everything.

Here's the latest. Have the front 4 link in

i'm new to most mechanic stuff and trying to learn... so what are the 2 bars going back to the axle? and all the bars above the axle also? just to support the power and hold everything in place?

he means a coil sprung 4 link system. 4 links to locate the rear axle. Yes those four bars. I really want to build a 4 link for my K5. Wish I could find a nice cheap 2wd pickup, use the spring buckets for the front coils and all.

Re: Thought I\'d share some of the new mods for 2003

alright time to explain some suspension stuff, See with leaf springs the leaves provide the spring rate and axle locating. They keep the axle in the spot where ti should be throughout suspension travel. With a coil sprung setup the springs just hold the truck up and provide spring they need something else to locate the axle and keep it there. For that we have links. In some cases there is the trailing arms, as with Fords. Then there is the 4 link(a version of which is pictured), then there is the 3 link which is the same but instead of 4 bars there are 3. There is also the 4 and 3 link with panhard bar which is the setup used in the front of stock 94-01 dodges. Its really complex if you do it right and I don't know it all but I hope to soon. I personally want to build custom vehicles for a living so I plan to learn as much as I can about suspensions.
