ive noticed that on 6 lug front axles that the tie rod goes in from the top, and on 8 luggers in goes in from underneath.

my question is, is there going to be fitment issues when i do the crossover steering (the flattops are top loaders)and 15" rims?
hopefully you can understand what im asking.

No problem with wheel clearence. Sometimes a rock rod will rub the springs thuogh. The top and bottum design has nothing to do with 3/4 or 1/2 ton stuff, just the desigh of the year.

I had a 6 lug 10 bolt and it went in from the bottom. The Dana 44 I just took out of my truck started out 6 lug (converted to 8)and the tie rod goes in from the top.I installed a Rockstomper rock rod with straight ends instead of the drop down style ones to gain as much clearance as possible.I also ran 15x10s with 3.75 back space and had no clearance issues with anything but the caliper and backing plate /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

my 6 lug and the 1973 dana 44 6 lug i pulled the flat tops from were top loaders.
the dana 44 that i have for 8 lugs is a bottom loader.
i just thought maybe there was a reason why that was.

My '75 D44 8 lug is a top load, but my stock '79 10B was a bottom load.
