tightening/adjusting linkage

    I have an 88 Jimmy with a 700r auto trans. Occasionally when I put it into overdrive or reverse I hear a click noise from underneath the truck. I'd like to know how to fix this.

    It could be as simple as replacing your U-joints, or as complicated as adjusting the pinion & ring. Try to move the driveshaft with your hand and see find the play is.
