My '79 original 1/2 ton master cylinder is ready for a replacement..........and I have a Dana 60/14BFF combo (with the drum brakes). Two questions -

    1. Will the one ton MC bolt right on?
    2. Does anyone know what the part number is for the 1 ton MC, or maybe better, what year K30 to buy for?

    Thanks in advance.

I tried the 1 ton and it would not work. Let me know if you find 1 that does and post the part # for everyone else. Thanks and good luck!

I'm fairly sure all 1 tons had hydroboost. All of the ones I've ever seen have had it.

I got a 3/4 model MC from Autozone. I'm not sure if it's really any different from a 1/2, but it bolted right up.

I have put a K30 MC on my K5 and it bolted right up. There are two styles if I remember correctly. You need the 1.25" bore and the shortinput cup. The other style is a 1 5/16" bore with a long cup. I got mine from napa by asking for a MC from an 80s K30 without hydroboost.

I don't know how well this works yet as the truck is not yet mobile.

To the top, gotta be someone that has tried/done this without swapping the booster.

The only difference I know of between MC's (1/2 ton only experience, but GM, should carry across the line you'd hope) is the bore. You can not fit a big bore MC on a booster made for the "small bore" MC. You can pull the MC off without cracking the lines IIRC, so its not like it would be tough to unbolt the MC from the booster, and measure/inspect the "pocket"
