Time to get the Sawzall out. Some ?\'s.

Well I figured while the truck is down for a few days I would start hacking away at it. I plan to hack it like the UAV and was wondering if anybody has any good advice on doing the inner fenders? Should I take them out or leave them in to cut them? The outers look like an easy enough job so all I need to know is how far from the back edge of the fender on the bottom should the cut be? I am also going to give the 14ff a shave and need to know if I should cut it with the pumpkin cover on or off? Thanks.

I cut my fenders and there was 6 1/2" from the door edge to the edge of my cut at the bottom of the fender. I just pushed my inner fender back and tacked it to the fender...kinda butch but I figure the fender won't be coming off too often. I can always grind the little weld anyways.

I haven't shaved my 14 yet...but I think I'd do it without cover so I can see exactly how close to the threaded hole on the bottom I'm getting. The cover would be easy to trim to suit later.

haven't done this but you may find a way to mark the bottom edge of your cover on the housing so you know where it lies when you go to hacking.

UAV cuts are for poseurs (J/K! [IMG] I just had to say that because my membership has not yet processed [IMG]). You need to cut it like Money Pit! Now THAT is a cut! Very similar to what I've had in my head for a long time but I like the looks of his better. Mine may not (probably won't) have any front fenders at all but I will probably adopt his back cut...

6" from the door to where I started cutting.
On the shave job take the cover off and start the cut with a hack saw then tear into it with the sawzall.

Just go to town on the thing. If you end up cutting too much, you can always get bigger tires.

I might be picking up a set of 38" TSL's tomorrow so I will be doing some serious hacking to fit them on my 4" lifted truck. Looks like I might be doing my body lidt a little sooner then expected.

Wish I had better pictures or more of them, but here's a pic of my friends fender cutting to fit 38's. He's also running a 4" lift.

Thanks guys. I hope to start hacking tomorrow.[IMG] I plan to cut enough to at least fit 37's or 38.5's which is what the next set of tires will be.
