Alright guys, I can't tell which bolt is the distributor hold down bolt. I need to retard my timing a lil' and I need to loosen the distributor. It's an 85 blazer with a 305. Please help me out and tell me which bolt to attack...Thanks!

There is a 9/16 bolt that screws into the intake. Its probably under your vacuum advance canister or pretty close to it. You can get a special "distributor wrench" from sears that makes it alot easier to get in there and loosen it.

Look at where the distributor shaft goes down into the engine. There is a little fork-looking thing shaped kind of like a "Y" that is holding the distributor down. The bolt is in that. It is behind the carb, in front of the vacuum advance cansiter, underneath the distributor, passenger's side.
