Timing marks on 350 TBI?

    Where is the timing gauge thing that you lie up the mark o nthe balancer to?

    As you stand in front of the truck, it should be at the one o'clock position at the balancer. Should be fairly obvious if it's not missing or covered in gunk...

    It's on the timing chain cover. If you don't see it from the top look for it from the bottom just to make sure it's still there. On my 90 Sub it's kind of hard to see but it's down there.

    I've seen some late model rigs that just have what looks like a small steel tube for a timing tab. When the timing mark is centered in the hole, then the timing is set correctly. I guess it's just one more way to try to make us leave stuff stock... /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif
