tire width question

Discussion in 'The Garage' started by **DONOTDELETE**, Jan 28, 2003.

I am running 35" x 14.5"x 15" SSR's on 15x12" rims and would like to run a 36" x 12.5" tire. Do you think it would run alright on a 12" rim or should I get different rims? Maybe I could strike up a trade with someone !! I want some 36" x 12.5 swamper TSL radials on 6 lug steel wheels.

Your not gonna have good sidewall protection running a 12.5" tire on a 12" rim. It's better to go with a 10" rim, or even better an 8" rim, but then you run into less stability and the tire wearing mostly in the center of the tire.

  2. That is what I thought !! I will probably sell my 35's with the wheels and then go with a 10" wheel.
