Are most toilet parts standards? I think the toilets here at my folks are on the way out- THe rubber flaps dont stay floating, or the water doesnt shut off at the right time, and just keeps filling, or fills on its own after a few hours.... any ideas? tips? etc?

There are a few different styles, look at the old parts and compare them to the ones at the store. Not too many differences, but some of them make the difference beween working and not.
