<font color=purple>I did it today on the beauty rings on my rally wheels ....... it works great ! You should see them shine. If I get time, I'll take a picture of before and after. It's an old trick, but works like hell.

<font color=green> Four Wheeler magazine had an article about two years ago on easy and cheap ways to clean your 4x4 and i remember reading about the toothpaste thing, works on anything chrome, especially emblems and doorhandles.

    Thats cause toothpaste has grit.

Granted, the grit is on the scale of like 2500-3000. Your dentist uses about 2200-2500 grit when they polish your teeth. (Yes, I was curious, and I asked.) :)

Toothpaste has a very, very, very fine grit in it. Its kinda like the glaze/polish that bodyshops use to polish the paint after a new paint job.

I once used toothpaste to polish the huge brass buckle on the duty belt I had to wear while posted as the Duty NCO at our barracks in Okinawa. There was no brass polish ANYWHERE!! So in the AM I go to the hangar to get relieved by the oncoming duty with the squadron Sergeant Major (he was a real hard-a$$). SgtMaj asks me how I polished the duty belt, since he knew there wasn't any polish. I told him I used toothpaste, and I thought he would $#it a brick!! He was impressed as hell!

Never tried it on the Blaz (not exactly a show queen), but tooth paste works wonders on scratched CDs. Just buy the cheap white stuff, add water, polish, like new.

One other trick for chrome is to use Coke (yes the cola) and aluminum foil. The base in the Coke helps eat away the rust spots.
