Depends on gearing, tires, total weight, headwind... Planning a trip to Bonnaville? I dont think it will break any records in stock form. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

My borther has had his 98 K 3500 with vortec 454, 4L80E, with 4.10 gears and 285/ 75 R 16 tires up to about 125 mph before. We just though we would try it just once to see how fast it would go. He did out on strech of road where nobody lives. I don't think we will never do it again but it was fun doing it. My brother used the hypertech programer to get rid of the speed governor. At 125 the motor was turning about 4500 rpm in overdrive and he was not pushing it because it would drop out of overdrive and there would probaly been pieces of the motor all over the county when it blow from over rev. Please do not flame me for this.

Bah who the heck would flame for that?? we all did it one time or another /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif My 95 regular cab 350 4x4 would go about 130 ish, and my little 88 stepside can get up to 145-150 if you wind the hell out of it in drive. But it has some motor mods and good speed rated tires.

I had my truck up to 95 last weekend pretty easily considering the head wind. The fastest I've ever had it is 115. That's with a 305, 3.42 gears, 700R4 in third gear, and 33" rubber.

My Dad's 89 K1500 standard cab long box will easily go faster than that. It has a 350, 3.42 gears, and 700R4 with 33" rubber.

Both of them slow down if you put them in overdrive at that speed.

I think with proper gearing and drag reduction you could get one to 130mph. You'd have to run skinny tires, keep the air dam, and put a tonneau cover on it. After that, you're going to have to bump up the ponies.

    99 Regal(moms) - 105(governed)
    97 S10(dads) - 95(goverened)
    91 S10(dads and mines beater) - 125
    86 C10 and 83 K10 - not sure
the C10 and K10 both had those speedos that stop at 85, but the needles were pointed straight up and down so i would guess in the area of 100-105, the 91 S10 speedo stops at 85 but a buddy who had his moms car ran with me and that speedo went to 140 so the reading should be fairly acurate

    95MPH Downhill for my '80 K10! It's a speed demon I tell ya! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Tire size and gearing matter a LOT. I've got a pretty strong 350 4bbl in my truck, but because of its gearing it only reaches 95mph on a good day (Or 70mph according to the speedo which needs recalibrated for my 16" wheels and tires!)

83 Blazer 305 700r4 np208 3.08 gears and 32 inch tires I stop at 80mph for reasons of saving the truck and not being blown off the road from the wind that somtimes blows on I-10 between Tucson and Phoenix. But when I was younger and dumb I saw the other side of 130 in a 76 Chevelle/Laguna with the Nascar nose and a homebilt 383 2.76 gears .

way back when i was young and stupid i had my 85 blazer (350, th350, 3.08 gears w/ 32" tires) up to about 105 on a good downhill. the only way i knew it was going that fast (speedo only goes to 85) was when we finally slowed down and a friend of mine in his toyota said he had his spedo past 100 and i was still gaining on him /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

no way will i ever try that again in a truck!

Id never do it again in that thing. Im gunna try and top my truck out next week, and see what it tops out at. thanks guys.
