No, not top truck challange! A tough truck competition, as in racing your 4x4 around a motocross track /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif I'm just trying to get a feel for what I'll have to create to race in one and actually finish it. I've got an '87 K5 chassis with a 4" lift, 35's, stock 305, 700R4/208? in it and a body from an '89 I'd like to chop up into a half cab creation. What will I need to do to make this thing racable? (or trashable whichever I think is more fun!) Do I need a roll cage, 5 point harness, doors, glass??? I just need info from anyone who's competed in one. Thanks for the info /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Renforce the frame and axles. They got jumps at those competitions.

This is the organization holding the event I found my requirements... quite a bit of work involved. For those of you that have been in a race like this... is it fun enough to justify the work involved? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

[/ QUOTE ] yeah, the Southwick MX track has quite a few jumps in it. lots of sand too. If you watch motocross on the outdoor channel at all you may have seen the track on tv. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Whats the difference in the two?

My buddy raced in one of them maybe five years ago in a Blazer he'd built up, not really anything out of the ordinary for this board, probably 35's-38's, enough lift to clear them, 350 or 400/TH350/203 and 4.10's in D44/12 bolt rear, and he came in second place. Broke his front axle on the last jump though lol. (no truss)

I know he didn't have a cage in it.

He has the videotape somewhere, I still haven't seen it though.
