I am running 4.56 gears,33 inch tires and a 700R4, this setup turns about 2250 RPM at 65 mph.Is it safe to pull a 2500 lbs boat in overdrive if I wire the TCC to stay locked as suggested on the Bowtie overdrive website?

The big problem with towing in OD is that the ATF circulates a lot slower than normal. This allows it to heat up quicker and cool down more slowly. For this reason alone, I never tow in OD.

I'm not aware of the TCC bypass thingy, so I can't comment. If Bowtie says it works, I guess I can't argue, but I'd be curious to see if they would still warranty a tranny that blew up while towing, regardless of what "measures" the owner took.

I'm assuming that you're running a good quality auxilliary tranny cooler, BTW.
