I am still having problems with my TPI system. I am not getting pulses to the injectors (I am going to go threw and test all the wiring tonight) and when I do try and start it with starting fluid I get backfires threw the throttle body.

    1. Backfires threw the TB would be a timing issue correct?

    Thanks

    Harley,

Yes, test the timing, it may be 180 out.

I agree with rob. 180° off. change it and it should run, probably like junk, but run none the less. (i assume you have a timing light for when you get it running)

Timing is easy with TPI. You set it at zero and the ECM takes care of the rest. It can then be tweaked but don't forget to unhook the brown wire that connects to the dizzy before doing so. The ECM always assumes the timing is zero. That is why you have to dis-connect the wire before changing the timing manually. IF you don't it will confuse the ECM. It has been a while since I ran TPI so I may be off on my information.

<font color="blue">Base timing is 6* not 0*. Still not getting an injector pulse?

    VATS disabled?
Are you ignition circuits getting 12v on startup as well as ignition?

    6*, 0* close enough /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

If he is using the chip I sold him, VATS is disabled.
