    ok ive got an 81 yota longbed pickup, its been sitting in the garage for years because it needs a lot of work before its trail ready. it needs R&Ps, birfields, a carb, a flatbed, seats and wiring to be ready.

    OR

    my friend offered me his 78 bronco today. its got a 302/c6/np205/d44/9" and a new rear driveshaft in it sitting on 4" and 35" pretty new swamper SXs, it needs wiring to the gauges and a front driveshaft... for $500!!!

    let me know

    Hrmmm, I'd make the call depending on how tight of trails you want to run. Broncos are pretty massive.

    Wait, did I just say something about off roading?

    Tough call... if you wanna wheel sooner... go Bronco, if later... go toy. I've thought about buying a 78/79 Bronco and selling the entire body on it (damn near a collectors iten these days) and then making a single seat tube buggy on what was left. HP D44 + 9" is a pretty good axle combo... and 302/C6 is good-n-cheap also. The married Ford np205s are all 31-spline... plenty of beef there. Pretty much a perfect trail rig.

    I can't believe I just voted for the Bronco, but it seems like the logical choice.
