Why not get a model that is made for the 1st gens. I know there are a few outfits that make them.

I've got a homemade one I took off my 71 Jimmy, not pretty but stout. You can have it if you'll pay to get it from Houston to where you are.

I went through this when I waqs looking for a hitch for my 72. I found that Reese, Hidden Hitch, Draw-Tight, and Algonquin no longer make a hitch for the first gen Blazer. They do still carry hitches for 67-72 pick-ups and 73 and newer Blazers. None of these will bolt to a first gen Blazer though. You should just have a custom one made. I had a custom hitch made for $250 out in California at a muffler shop. They did it while I waited! Welded right to the frame rails (I even run a 37 gallon tank which makes hitch placement even harder). Look into custom hitches before you spend that money to ship a heavy ass used hitch.

I haven't contacted them, but Early Classic Enterprises advertises a hitch for '69-'72 Blazers. It's truly a "Hidden" hitch with the receiver behind the license plate. Follow the link:

I just took a valley style off my blazer so I can get my new aftermarket bumper on. It has one made into it so I dont need that one now.
If anyone is interested $50 plus shipping.
Thanks
