I need to get a trailer hitch for my '70 K5 to tow my '78 Datsun 510 race car. I haven't found anyone that makes them for my truck. I'll be pulling it on a 16 foot car trailer. Should I consider a weight distrobution system sinse its a short wheel base truck? Thanks for any info.

good luck on finding one. I took the one off of my 98 Z-71 before I sold it. I put it on my blazer, but I had to run some angle iron on the outside of my frame. Its a royal pain in the butt. Up close to the spring perches I had to grind it down a good bit. The tabs on mine were bent outward. If they had been bent inward it would have fit perfectly. I saw one at autozone where the two side brackets bolted on. You could switch the sides so the brackets bent in when bolted on and I think it would work just fine. I am going to just build a bumper and incrporate one into it. Hope this helps.

I think im just going to go with a swing away tire carrier from KMA with the class III reciever in the bumper if it can suppot the weight of a car on a trailer.

I have on that I had on my 72 K10 pickup, it worked great on the pickup, class 3 I think. Don't know where I got it from, I got a freind that is in the trailer/hitch business and he hooked me up with the whole deal around 200 with wiring and installation.

I have a Valley hitch that I took off my 72 that I no longer need,
got my aftermarket bumpers on so I have no use for it.
Its older but it worked good.
    Make me a offer.
