Anyone know of any trails north of Dallas up to the Red River? This guy I used to work with knew of a place called Allen Mountain, but I don't know where it is...

When I lived in Dallas some 22 years ago, there was a place just below the dam at Lake Dallas (or was it Lake Lewisville, seems like a lifetime ago!). Anyway, there were trails all over the area. We would play in the river and in waist-deep mud out there. There was one big mudhole that was always full of water. It was about hood deep on my F-150 with a 4 inch lift and 35's. [IMG] The land was in a flood plain so it couldn't be developed, but that doesn't mean that someone hasn't fenced it off by now...

Back then I also used to cut across a two-track in a huge field around Inwood and LBJ. It would get muddy after a good rain. The Galleria shopping mall stands on that property these days. [IMG]

Yes, there is Marshall Creek ORV Park, part of the ACOE, its in the southwest corner of Lake Grapevine/Grapevine lake. In Denison there is also some trails around Randel Lake.
North of Munster on private prop. pay a fee, and its right on the red river.
Denton had a place on/off Trinity Blvd. at the very northwest end of the lake.
    Good luck
