My 700R decided to take a crap on me the other night. My D and OD are gone. I think I'm just gona get the whole thing rebuilt. While they are doing it, I'm gona get them to put in a cooler, but what is a good brand, and what is a good size to tell them to get? Thanks!

Here you go.http://www.perma-cool.com/Catalog/Cat_page05.html Some body on this site said you should use a 24,000 GVW. I think this is the one I am going to order...

A B&M 19,000 GVW transmission oil cooler (P/N 70268) was installed on my K5 when I bought it and I've have had no problems with it. I may upgrade it to a larger one sometime in the future. I've seen other favorable posts on B&M transmission oil coolers.

I have a Tru-Cool(made by Long Mfg) 24,000 GVW cooler. It's construction is very similar to the B&M cooler mentioned above. When you buy a cooler try to stay away from the aluminum tube/fin design like Hayden has- this type isn't as durable and doesn't have a bypass system that will still allow flow if a blockage occurs...........

B&M makes a good stack plate design. As far as size, there is no such thing as too cool. Get the biggest you can find. Don't let it fool you though, I still blew my 700 after installing a cooler. It is better than nothing though.

I would just go for the B&M 24,000. I haven't had any problem with it and it fits and comes with all mounting hardware...even two sets of mounting hardware...one for the easy put on grill and one for drilling n such.
