i was looking over some posts about 700r4 ovr heating w/big tires and i got me thinking, my burbun is going in for some sand blasting and rear crossmember and body mount replacement, but i was thinking that i should do my gear /axle swap now(3/4 ton, or 3.08 to 4.10) and wait untill october for the underbody stuff. i just don't want to drop 1500 on underbody rust repair, then burn up my tranny and need new gears and a tranny, any insight? oh yhea 89 1/2 ton burb, 350, w/33" and 3.08 gears(yuck!)

Go ahead and do the gear swap. I'm running 4.10 with a 700R4/NP205 and 33" tires. You'll also discover a new Low range in 4 wheel low. With the 700R4, 3.08 gears really bogs things down.

As far as the underbody repairs....The rust repairs aren't gonna get you where your going. the tranny and the gears do.
So I would get those taken care of first. 4.10 gears work good with 33's and a 700R4. This is hat Im running right now and its perfect.
I've got a 14 bolt with 4.10 locked, ready to bolt in if your interested. But thats along way. Im checking on shipping for someone else now but thats to Yuma AZ that will cost more than the rear end.
Anyway, take care of the stuff that gets to from point a to point b then worry about c.

Does anyone have a grinding disk I can borrow?[IMG]3/4 in progress[IMG]
