Right now I have a 350 engine, 700R4, and NP241. I want to get rid of the 700R4. Can I swap in a TH350 or TH400? Will the NP241 bolt up? Will the NP241 be usable? Whats a good price on a TH350 or TH400? Even if it is from the junkyard. Anything else I should know about the swap? Anyone do it before?

I have the same setup. And have investigated the same stuff. The TH350 is the closest match to the 700, and I believe will bolt to the 241, but you will need a longer output shaft for the 350. But if you do this you know, I'm sure that you will loose that killer low first gear and the overdrive. And the 350 is not that much better than the 700. Or at least that is the opinion of some. If your going to do the swap, go for the gold, go 400. Will take more work. Crossmember, all teh little extras will add up quick. Like the dip stick, the adapters, yada, yada. I know its not what you wanted to hear. I didn't like the sound of it either. So I stuck with my 700, and rebuilt it.
P.S. The going price for a rebuilt 350 or 400 here in NAshville, Tn is about $250. But that is just a plain old seals, o-rings, and gaskets kinda rebuild. And a core/swap.

Don't you buy no ugly truck!
