Tranny - where should I go to get a \"new\" one?

I am currently running a TH350/NP205 and I am pretty sure that my TH350 wont last long enough for the new engine to get built and I am 100% certain it wont last more than 10 minutes behind it.

So, anyone "know" anyone that does tranny's? Sells tranny's?

    Thanks

Building a kick arse T350 should cost no more than $400 if you bring them the tranny.............the R&R if you don't want to pull it could be another $200 or so, but I've had two done in the past three years for $400 with all the goodies inside and a new torque converter. Unfortunately the tranny shop that I've used for over 12 years closed due to retirement........... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The good news...........I made some calls.........turns out the guy who built the tranny in my K5 is back in business at his own shop. It's at 199th and Burnside.........don't know the name of it but if you call John's Frame Shop (another great guy to know if you ever crack your frame anywhere and want someone to fix it for ya - done two for me over the years) and ask about Virgil's tranny shop he'll give you the name. Dude is in the same small complex as John's Frame Shop.

Let me know if anyone calls and gets the name.

Josh, put the hubs in this weekend, worked great.........thanks. Turns out as I suspected one of my auto hubs was fawked. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Yes, this is the same TECH that built it, the shop closed - his name is Virgil - has a bad ass Chevy shortbed 4x4. Check it out and let me know..........and yes, it was $400. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
