    Hello,
OK. I was searching through the archives and found an answer to my question about the black goo that has appeared in the trans pan. Now that I know what it is, please help me fix it!
Changed shift govener in 700r4 trans so that it would shift at much higher RPMs. And now that black goo is in the bottom of the pan. Is the shift kit and govener too much? Am I tearing apart my clutches?
    Help please!
    Thanks!!

Black goo in the bottom of the pan or the fluid is black goo.A thin layer in the bottom of the pan is normal.
