    Nice PAINT!

How much to powder-caot the rims?

Can this be done on chrome?

    TIA

Looking good /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Who did your bumpers. That thing looks too nice to wheel, I'd be scared to scratch the paint.

$250 To P-coat wheels. If I scratch it I can fix it, and each scratch will be a story to tell!!!! I started this thing in June and it had rust holes in it you could throw a basketball through. The bumpers were made in house with the help of a local Hummer customizer. They are powdercoated epoxy covered and BEEFY. We got the sliders on this week and pics are coming soon.

Powdercoating in chrome is not as durable as real chrome. It is a paint finish that is real tough but not as tough as real chrome(Which is an environmental nightmare). If your wheels are steel, look for a chrome plating company. If they are aluminum have them polished and powdercoated clear.

I'm almost speechless -- That was the vision I had for my K5--I mean down to the black mirrors and can-back--I think that color is real close to the color of my K5--I will have to regroup and change some stuff cosmeticaly, don't won't to be a copy cat /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Grim, I stayed GM. The color is 2002 GM Brilliant Silver Metallic. It was easy and cheap. German silvers often have pearls and bluish tint. I painted my last truck Mercedes Astral Silver and nobody could match it when we repaired it.When I finally got tired of it I had 5 diffrent colors on it from repairs.

What is the material you used on your bumpers that looks to have holes in it?

It looks great!! The bumpers are awesome. Why the little piece of trim on the rear corners?

I think the "holey" material is expanded metal, but I could be wrong....

We call it punched plate. It is 3/32" sheet steel with 1" holes punched in it. The rear corner trim pieces are on by themselves because I am putting all the body side molding back and I wanted the corners on before I put the bumpers on. I am painting the chrome strips black.

the trim will keep cars roof antennas from chipping the paint as they drive under, seriously though the bumpers look great
