I took out the transfer case today to install a slip yoke eliminator and saw that the adapter had transmission fluid coming oout of it. Is there supposed to be transmission fluid between the transmission and transfer case (In the transfer case adapter)? The transmission is a 700R4 connected to a NP241. Thanks in advance for the input.

It's probably a leaking seal, either on the t-case input shaft or the tranny output. I can't remember if the 700 has a rear seal or just a bushing????
